Winter Urban Plagne 2010 !

For this 3rd edition of WUP, just like each year, freestyle, fun and freaky antics abounded ! And for 2010 the organisers decided to add an extra day of competition (4 days instead of 3).

Our Young Gun team was in the place ! Unfortunately, destiny was not on their side … Just 1 hour before handing in the video (which would count for the final rankings) our computer gave up the ghost…May it rest in peace ! Due to this technical incident our Young Gun team was unable to finish in the final rankings. Nonetheless, a big bravo and all our support goes out to them , as the boys were in 3rd place before having to officially pull out of the competition.

But, thanks to a computer that does work, we have received the finished video today, and here it is :

We would also like to congratulate the team made up of Tom GRANIER (CoreUPT.com kid too) and his friends, who finished in 8th place overall.

Boarderweek in Val Thorens

After an early leaving from Tignes, we finally arrived in Val Thorens for the Boarderweek contest with the whole Young Gun team, Julien Lange, Flo Bastien and Kevin Guri, a new CoreUPT.com rider.

Training started at 9am on a sick slopestyle (double wave rail, box flat down, rail, 18m kick, gap rail, step up to step down, down flat down and a hip).

After 3 runs of training, we started the 1st qualifier run with 80 riders in competition and most of them were wellknown french riders.

Only the best 20 riders are qualified for the 2nd run. 4 CoreUPT.com riders are still in competition : Ju, Flo, Kev and Tom Lesuire.

At the end of the second run, Ju is 1st , Kev is 2nd and Flo is 5th.

At the end of the day, it’s finally Flo who won the contest and the 5000 euros prize money. He did a perfect run with a cab mute 1080. Kevin is 3rd and Julien took the 4th place.

Big Up to the CoreUPT.com team !

CoreUPT.com: Young Gun Selection

Junior Team: watizit?

This is not a team like all the others! You don’t just get your pair of skis and thank you very much! CoreUPT.com is offering a complete training-programme for 7 youngsters, aged between 13 and 16, that aims to prepare you to be the pro-riders of the future.
The training-programme is financed by CoreUPT.com and is made up of the following modules:
- Freestyle ski training
- Physical training
- Coaching & Career management (sponsors etc)

To be able to take part in this selection, post your video (maximum 1min 30sec) on Zapiks.fr, and name it in the following way: ‘CoreUPT.com Young Gun selecta + last name/ name’
The judging criteria are as follows:
- Tricks – variety is important. We don’t want to see the same move 10 times!
- Style – a trick without style isn’t really a trick.
- Filming and editing – Oh yes, as a pro rider needs to know how to edit his/her part in order to promote him/herself.
So that we can contact you quickly, send us an email with the title of your video and your contact details (email + telephone) to the following address: selection@coreupt.com

If you are lucky enough to be among the 15 best videos selected, this is how the rest of the selection will take place:

- You will receive an email or a call from the team manager to let you know you have been pre-selected for the final test day.
- This day will take place in Tignes, the weekend of the 14th/15th November. The goal is to select the best 7 among you to join the CoreUPT.com Young Guns team.
- CoreUPT.com will pay for the lift pass, but you must take care of food yourself.
- The day will start off with a ski test (freestyle + piste skiing) in the morning followed by a physical test in the afternoon.
At the end of the day, the jury, made up of the team manager and some riders from the Pro CoreUPT.com team, will choose the 7 best riders amongst you.
Results to be announced on the 2nd December.
