Winter X-Games backstage with our rider Julien Lange

Follow our rider Julien Lange during the Winter X-Games Europe in Tignes, his home ski resort :

COREUPT.COM AT THE EUROPEAN X-GAMES TIGNES 2010

The adventure began well before the 10th of March for the CoreUPT.com staff. Work on the future CoreUPT.com stand took place on an unnamed building site somewhere near Lyon. Some of the staff spent a few days on site, bringing a personal touch to the 6 shipping containers, that were then transported to X-Fest village in Tignes for the first ever European X-Games.

The installation of the stand was nothing if not memorable! With the help of a 30 ton digger, the game was to carefully place and pile up said containers. Following that, various days were needed to set everything up on the inside and do the finishing touches (welding, electricity, waterproofing, staircase, decoration, stickers, installing the MINI Clubman…) All was finally finished around 2am Wednesday morning! Phew …

The finished CoreUPT.com stand boasted a presentation of the 2010/2011 ski collection, a CoreUPT.com video game specially created for the event in partnership with youriding.com, and a presentation area for the MINI Clubman. Also on show was Pull-In Underwear, another partner of ours.

The rest took care of itself. The riders arrived in good time (no plane delays this time) and managed to fit in various training sessions, both in the Valpark and on the X-Games features themselves.

And we all met up for a typically CoreUPT.com meal at the Couloir in Val Claret on Monday night (cheers Chris ;-) ).

During the X-Games, CoreUPT.com made a name for itself not only on the snow but on the after-hours scene. Thanks to a partnership with the Melting Pot, CoreUPT.com made this Tignes favourite its HQ throughout the event, and you were not shy in coming to party the nights away!

Between the various artists (Aya Waska, Urban Knights, Eliza Do Brazil…) and the premiere of Candide Kamera 2, we really got the place warmed up!

As far as the team goes, Canada was well represented by our 2 riders TJ SCHILLER and Justin DOREY, and all the Frenchies were in the house; Candide THOVEX, Adrien COIRIER, Richard PERMIN, Julien LANGE, Guerlain CHICHERIT,JL RATCHEL, Flo BASTIEN and Ben VALENTIN.

A special congratulations goes out to Julien LANGE for qualifying for his first X-Games. We wish him the best of luck for the future. We’re all with you Ju!

An equally BIG congrats to Justin DOREY for his 3rd place in the Superpipe, just behind the Frenchies Kevin Rolland (1st) and Xavier Bertoni (2nd).

A good performance was also put in by TJ SCHILLER who finished 4th in Slopestyle.

The CoreUPT.com team thanks all those of you who were able to visit us on the stand and share the adventure with us.

Here’s hoping that these 1st European X-Games have had as much of an impact on you as they have on us!

May the adventure continue …

(Français) L.A Session

Winter Dew Tour – superpipe prelims/slopestyle qualifiers

It’s time for an update here from Breckenridge, Colorado at the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour.

After two solid days of greybird and flurries, Mother Nature finally cleaned up her act last night in time for the Ski Superpipe Prelims with clear and bitter cold skies.

It wasn’t really a good day for the CoreUPT.com team as at the end of the day, only Tj and Justin are still in the loop for Halpipe and Slopestyle.

Gus broke his collar bone during the slopestyle qualifiers and had to stop the competition. We wish him to heal fast and well. All the crew wish him good luck for the recovery.

Colby and Julien unfortunately felt during their run.

Boarderweek in Val Thorens

After an early leaving from Tignes, we finally arrived in Val Thorens for the Boarderweek contest with the whole Young Gun team, Julien Lange, Flo Bastien and Kevin Guri, a new CoreUPT.com rider.

Training started at 9am on a sick slopestyle (double wave rail, box flat down, rail, 18m kick, gap rail, step up to step down, down flat down and a hip).

After 3 runs of training, we started the 1st qualifier run with 80 riders in competition and most of them were wellknown french riders.

Only the best 20 riders are qualified for the 2nd run. 4 CoreUPT.com riders are still in competition : Ju, Flo, Kev and Tom Lesuire.

At the end of the second run, Ju is 1st , Kev is 2nd and Flo is 5th.

At the end of the day, it’s finally Flo who won the contest and the 5000 euros prize money. He did a perfect run with a cab mute 1080. Kevin is 3rd and Julien took the 4th place.

Big Up to the CoreUPT.com team !

Team Building Video !

Hey check this out : The Team Building video 2009 :

CoreUPT.com Official Partner of the European Winter X-Games

It’s official, the ski brand CoreUPT.com has been accepted as partner by ESPN and CANAL + EVENTS for the key event of the 2009-2010 winter season, the EUROPEAN WINTER X-GAMES, which will take place in France, in the ski resort of Tignes, from the 10th to the 12th of March 2010.

Winter X-Games

Always full of surprises, CoreUPT.com pulled another one out of the hat by signing a partnership with the WINTER X-GAMES, who, with 15 years of experience, will be arriving in Europe for the 1st time this coming March.

Signed for a period of 3 years, this contract is above all a constructive partnership. Indeed, if CoreUPT.com has managed to seduce the event’s organising committee, it’s because the brand will really be getting involved, bringing fresh new ideas and creating real added value. CoreUPT.com is certainly planning to impress during the EUROPEAN WINTER X-GAMES and will be revealing numerous surprises as the months go by…

A little taster of things to come: Thursday 11th March is the date for the diaries for the COREUPT.COM PARTY with a sensational concert planned. The brand will also be investing in the resort of Tignes, its homeland, with 2 CoreUPT.com areas; one situated in the ‘partners village’, with test skis premiering from the 2010/2011 range, and the other not far from the finishing enclosure, comprising a lounge area and a mini skate-park. As well as signing sessions with the team’s riders, CoreUPT.com will also be organising a betting competition, which will involve guessing the final rankings of the different events. Up for grabs, one of the riders’ personal MINIs to drive away.

In short, the CoreUPT.com clan will be out in full force for the EUROPEAN WINTER X-GAMES and it’s highly likely we’ll see the podiums glowing with the brand’s colours.
